What a great repro! What a great toy!! I'll never be in a position to afford the original Linemar version, but this one comes mighty close (and, at a fraction of the cost). Thanks to Jay's pre-ship shakedown of each robot, my Lantern arrived in perfect working order. It immediately regressed me 45+ years, back to a time when battery operated toys were the mainstay of Christmas and birthday gift giving for boys of my generation. Even the box was beautifully recreated and helped to highten the "time machine" effect.
After admiring this flawless robot in the daylight, turn out the lights and give it a go in the dark. This robot was meant for "lights out" play.
