In the wake of the Lost in Space movie, Trendmasters, created an excellent and reasonably priced Robot B-9. Against all odds, they followed up with this astounding toy (which was virtually ignored in stores). Even at collector's prices, this toy is worth tracking down. It's extremely well made. Pushing one button on the wired remote control results in one of three phrases from the film Forbidden Planet, accompanied by lights.
Push the other button and Robby actually walks and lights up. The speech is in English and very clear and this heavy plastic robot makes a great display piece. Bob Kinoshita designer of Robby also created history's other best-known and most-loved robot, Lost in Space's B-9 (from the TV series not the movie). Trendmasters did a great job with both robots, which originally sold for about $25 in stores and came in beautiful full-color boxes (as shown).
