Mr. Mercury Robot. A true classic robot in style and function made by Marx in 1950'S. Incredible cosmetic condition with much gloss. All functions work perfectly - walks, bends, opens and closes arms. There are 3 variations of Mr. Mercury; gold, blue with metal arms, and rarest version is blue with plastic arms and light on head.

Mr. Mercury was one of the first remote control robots that did anything; most robots at the time executed a simple predetermined action. Mr. Mercury could pick things up between his foam pads and walk carrying them. He could both bend at the waist and raise and lower his arms.

This was a very popular, well-made metal large metal robot sold through the Sears catalog, and which existed in a few variations. All of them are quite popular among collectors, and he would seem a prime candidate for a repro. -Gord Wilson, alivingdog.com
