I had this robot when I was a kid, and he was my favorite plastic robot. He was bright orange (here he looks more red, which may be a variation). You'd wind him up and he'd spark when he walked. I don't remember his arms moving (maybe they did) or his antennae spinning (maybe they did also).

Tin toy robots were still widely available. I had great ones like Chief Robot Man (see my review), which I can't wait to get again. Plastic robots were just coming into their own. Ideal toys had made great ones like Zeroids and Robot Commando. Marx had made Big Loo. But Japanese robots were just beginning to come out in plastic.

Jupiter robot was very inexpensive but so well made that I didn't even notice he wasn't tin. I also didn't know about Robby the Robot then. I just knew he looked great, walked and sparked, and was unusual in being bright orange. All in all he was a great robot. -Gord Wilson, alivingdog.com
