Robert The Robot exact reproduction battery operated toy robot. Sold out and discontinued by factory. One of the first classic robots created in the 1950's was Robert the Robot. What was most unique about this robot was that he not only walked, but included the sensational new patented crank-wind talking device, better known today as phonographic record whereby Robert spoke these words: "I am Robert the Robot the mechanical man. Drive me, steer me where ever you can." These famous words caught America by storm in 1954, when this technological marvel first walked onto the scene.

Recreated from the original Ideal molds, this golden anniversary edition includes: An authentic numbered Robert the Robot, Numbered Certificate of Authenticity, Collectors Manual covering Robert the Robot's history and other exciting details.

I just received by Robert the Robot and it is nicer that I was expecting. When you put the batteries in him his new voice sounds much more commanding than the old one. The extra features were wonderful, this is a great buy for the robot collector and I am putting this new one next to my original one I had as a boy in my display case. I hope to see more of the classic robots of this era reproduced for the collector that does not want to spend a fortune on the originals. I have several robots i purchased from th 1950's in my collection, but I am starting to really nice these new reproductions, especially Mr. Atomic which I just bought. But when it comes to Robots, nothing beats Robert as he is the one that started many children as myself collecting Robots in their youth. Thanks Jay for making this one available, i will probably order a few more as traders.
