Another robot with great styling and budget price. A really nice glossy blue paint with red accents makes this guy standout. The unusual shaped head, coupled with the odd smiling face really grabs your attention.

Although I'm not positive, it appears that this robot shares the same clockwork mechanism as the Planet Robot. It definately shares the same (minimal) chestplate as the Conehead robot. Like both of those, Robby Boy has a switch in the chest that toggles the spring. Winding is done by a key placed in the side. When wound, sparks can be seen from a small lens under the astroboy's chin. The sparking action on my robot was solid and strong.

The robot is well balanced and his legs move him forward; both feet have 2 small wheels to keep him steady.

The only potential downside to this robot are the arms. Lord, they're ugly, not painted, and just metal pieces riveted on. On the other hand, I believe this was a partially a styling decision meant to accent the size and shape of the head/helmet. By shortening and minimizing the arms, the visual of the robot is much more focused on the head. And the head and face really are striking and unusual. You'll have to decide for yourself if you approve--it works for me.
