Mechanical Mighty Robot. Rare version with Blue vinyl feet. A wonderful vintage tin toy robot from 1950's Japan with classic sparking and peddle style foot action. Mighty stands 5 1/2 inches tall and in excellent condition with much gloss and still has some spark left in his flint. Box is very clean with minimal wear. Vinyl feet are like new and appears to have not been used very much. Complete with original box. SOLD. |

Mighty Robot Wind-up. Rare 11" tall Mighty Robot made by Yonezawa Japan in the 1960's. One of the more unique designs for its era constructed in tin with control dials and meters lithographed on his chest and back. Arms and head are made of plastic and on/off switch is on his back. Very comical action as robot walks forward raising and lowering his arms like he is weight lifting. Sometimes also referred to as the anxiety robot since he looks like he is lifting his hands to his head in dispair. Robot is in beautiful near mint condition with only a few minor scratches. Ratchet Robot. Wind up Ratchet Robot is one of the earliest 1950's tin toy robots produced. It's primitive boxy design was a strong characteristic of many robots of its time. This version features a wind up motor which enables Ratchet Robot to walk forward and shoot sparks from behind his porthole in his chest. This is a beautiful example of a 1950's classic robot and even still has the gel in its chest which is usually missing. Also, the chrome band running down his chest is extremely clean. Dux Astroman Robot. Rare 1950's robot made in Germany. Dux is based off his early brother Mr. Mercury originally designed in Japan by Yonezawa. This version is more intriguing due to the fact that it is made of tin and and translucent green plastic, which allows you to see the mechanical motors in motion. Multi-functions include mechanical walking action, bending and raising body, expanding, contracting and lifting arms. All functions work and robot is in excellent condtion. Space Explorer Robot. One of the most unusual tin toy robots in design and function. Noted as one of the earliest transforming robots and produced in Japan in the mid 1960's by Yonezawa.
As Space Explorer walks via discs under his feet, his green eyes blink left/right, then Space Explorer stops and closes up into a box - head recesses into body, legs fold into body, and arms close to the sides. After a few seconds, Space Explorer comes to life again, and rises with his expanding arms revealing blinking lighted head once again. When fully expanded, television screen reveals a lenticular astronaut behind the controls. A very impressive toy and in incredibly clean condition with much gloss! SOLD. |
